Twitter Account Creation

I was feeling pretty uneasy while creating my Twitter account, since I wasn’t that comfortable handing the Internet more of my information, especially something as public as Twitter/X. Nevertheless, I did it anyway, because I need the credit! (This is also the reason that the username and profile information is so generic - I really didn’t want strangers being able to look me up and come across this account.)

Once I had my account all set up after the first assignment, I started with following the professor. Since my favourite animal is the donkey, I immediately followed The Donkey Sanctuary and its related subsidiaries. I love seeing the cute snippets of life at the sanctuary they post, but I also appreciate that they are not afraid to draw attention to the issue of donkey slaughtering in Africa and elsewhere (for the purpose of producing a gelatinous Chinese medicinal treatment). I retweeted a few of their posts about this and sent out a link to a video they produced outlining the facts of the trade.

I also followed some more well-known animal rights organisations, like the Humane Society account, just to have a more balanced feed.
